ImpactScope’s Kibiva Energy manages a >350 MW portfolio of geothermal energy assets in Kenya’s Rift Valley, the one of the most energy-dense places on earth. We help bitcoin miners, AI infrastructure deployers and manufacturing clients access captive geothermal baseload power. We provide 20-year licenses, tax incentives, Special Economic Zone (SEZ) status, and full regulatory derisking. At our greenfield and brownfield geothermal sites, we facilitate freehold land acquisition inside the concession areas, giving our clients tariff-free, full ownership of the energy generating assets.

Our sites are inside and close to the Rift Valley’s geothermal belt, adjacent to some of Kenya’s current and upcoming mega geothermal investment projects. Currently over 40 % of Kenya’s national grid runs on geothermal energy. The first geothermal plant in the country began operations in 1981. The East African Rift Valley holds an estimated 10 GW of untapped geothermal potential. Kenya has developed roughly a tenth of it. The biggest global names in AI infrastructure, green hydrogen and Direct Air Capture are securing geothermal energy capacity in Kenya. Microsoft, Oracle, G42, Kaishan, HDF Energy, Climeworks are all expected to break ground in Kenya in 2026/2027.

In North America AI hyperscalers are outbidding traditional bitcoin miners for grid access, creating a desperate need for new, low cost power frontiers. Kibiva Energy’s sites offer 10-year and 20-year Levelized Cost of Energy lower than the top quartile of NASDAQ listed bitcoin miners with full asset ownership.
